About The Daily Ostrich
For a century, The Daily Ostrich held its head among America's leading newspapers, an impressive feat for a fictional publication. It fell on hard times in the new millennium, until publishing tycoon Tom George swept in to buy it. He did nothing to improve the writing or the precarious financial situation, but he did make it his own, and here it is, ready to amuse and edify a new generation of readers.
(Is the a "real" newspaper? We suppose so. "Real" is an awfully nuanced word. Is it an actual newspaper of trust and repute? No. It's a box of wonders and amusements, wrapped in newsprint, but we do take it seriously, and it's worth you while.)
Publisher's Note
I've always wanted a newspaper. In childhood, I used to make up fake papers to amuse my friends. (A transparent cry for attention, in retrospect.) I can't overstate the pride I take in finally owning a real one. I've finally become what I always wished I could be: a newspaper tycoon. Yes, I've been cautioned that a tycoon needs a number of newspapers, but one is a number. It's a place to start.
Your subscription means the world to me. Only with your help can I go beyond my dreams, and achieve the rank of baron, impresario, or, dare I speak it, mogul. Can you see it? "Tom George, media mogul?" I can. Let's make it happen, together.
