As to the Whereabouts of My Marbles

Did I ever have my marbles? If so, where are they now?

As to the Whereabouts of My Marbles
A game of chance.

Wouldn't you know it. I make plans for weekend out of town, and suddenly everyone in the writers' room disappears. C'est la vie.

I'll leave you with a puzzle to amuse you while I'm gone, adapted from one by Lewis Carroll. Enjoy! (If puzzles are your thing.)

On a table in front of you, I place an opaque jar and a satin bag. I open the jar, to show you the contents: blue marbles and yellow marbles in equal number, well-mixed.

We both close our eyes. I take two marbles out of the jar, dropping one into the satin bag, and placing the other on the table. Then we open our eyes and behold the marble on the table. It's blue. (My butler takes the jar away and mails it to Bermuda.)

I drop the blue marble into the bag with the unknown one. I shake the bag and hand it to you, telling you to draw one marble. You do so. It proves to be blue. What is now the chance of drawing another blue marble?

I'll supply the answer in next week's issue. Have a great week!
