Is Irish luck the right luck for you?

It's a great week for minor holidays. We get to celebrate sloppy joes, awkward moments, certified nurses, ravioli, memory, French bread, single parents, tamales, common courtesy, Bavarian crepes, our failure to be snuffed out by an asteroid, and puppies. And that doesn't even count the week's two headline events: The first day of spring, this Thursday, and National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day, which is today!
You're faced with an important choice today. If you're so inclined, you can invoke the name of St. Patrick and steep yourself in the Luck of the Irish. But you might want to give that a moment's thought, especially if you know much about Irish history. If you're able to wait a month, Koningsdag will roll around, and you can wish for the Luck of the Dutch. Or, if you can hold out all the way until December 6th, you can bind yourself to the Luck of the Finnish. None of which is meant to show favoritism—if Irish luck is your kind of luck, today's your day! Just go in with your eyes open, and remember you've got 192 other options.
